Frequently Asked Questions

When should I get a massage?

You can get a massage anytime. Many of our patients prefer massage prior to their chiropractic visit to help relieve tension. Our athletes also utilize massage therapy for recovery and maintenance for training.

Do I have to disrobe?

We let people undress to their comfort level. Some clients elect to undress completely while others choose to leave their underwear or other clothing on. You will always be covered or draped at all times to keep you comfortable. Only the area being worked on will be exposed. You should always let the therapist know if you feel uncomfortable at any time during your session.

Is there anything I should do after my visit?

It is recommended that you drink plenty of water following your session to help flush out your system and clear toxins from your body. Naturally occurring toxins accumulate in your muscles from daily wear and tear. During massage, these toxins can be released into your body. Drinking plenty of water before and after your session not only helps detoxify your body, but also helps aid in any muscle soreness that can occur.

How many sessions will I need?

Your therapist will recommend a schedule for you based on severity of injury or need for care in conjunction with chiropractic treatment. If you are seeking preventative massage for relaxation or to destress, one massage a month is most common. Weekly sessions may be desirable if you are receiving massage for a specific sports injury or to relieve a chronic painful issue.

How long does a typical session last?

We offer 30, 60, and 90-minute sessions depending on injury and number of areas you want the therapist to work on.

Should I leave a tip?

Tips are not required, but always appreciated.
