When you first come see us, we’ll do a careful assessment complete with a posture screen, orthopedic, nerve, and muscle testing. We will establish the cause of pain before jumping into treatment, and then adapt our approach that is specific to each individual patient.

Because your neck is flexible and supports the weight of your head, it can be susceptible to injuries and conditions that result in pain and restricted motion. Pain often results from posture issues, like hunching over a computer or cell phone for too long. Other common causes of neck pain include muscle spasms, osteoarthritis, whiplash, and nerve compression from herniated discs or bone spurs.

Many patients experience tension due to muscle imbalances, like upper-crossed syndrome. This dysfunction happens when poor posture tightens your pecs and upper neck while weakening your upper back and anterior neck muscles. As a result, you may also be dealing with chronic pain and headaches.
