Put Pain in Your Past & Healing in Your Present With MyACT

MyACT-treatmentRegardless if you are a competitive athlete, weekend warrior, active senior, or contented couch potato, you likely experience pain at some point. If you’re tired of reaching for over-the-counter medication or getting injections for relief, we offer a natural and effective solution with Myofascial Acoustic Compression Therapy (MyACT) or soundwave therapy using PiezoWave2.

How Does It Work?

MyACT uses acoustic waves (sound waves) to aim at tissue within the body at different depths to compress and manipulate the soft tissue. This leads to a concentrated and precise deep tissue massage in the targeted area.

Many patients who have undergone MyACT treatments usually feel improvements after just one session. Significant pain relief is typically experienced within several sessions.

Experience a Host of Benefits

MyACT is specifically designed to locate and alleviate musculoskeletal pain. By eliminating inflammation and breaking up adhesions (knots) within the soft tissue, the body’s mobility and range of motion can significantly improve. The therapy can also enhance your body’s circulation, which accelerates the body’s natural healing process and contributes to the reduction of both chronic and acute pain. This, in turn, can minimize the need for pain medication.

Another benefit of MyACT is its safety. The treatment is non-invasive and has minimal side effects, ensuring your health and comfort are never compromised. Each therapy session is brief, making it convenient even for those with the busiest of schedules.

The most notable benefit is the lasting improvement typically experienced within six treatments.

What to Expect

1. Your clinician will identify the treatment site and prep you for your treatment by positioning your body in the best way to receive the therapy.

2. A thin layer of gel will be applied to your treatment site. The gel acts as a conductor and facilitates directing the sound waves into the muscle tissue.

3. Your clinician will start treatment at a low output setting and increase to a point that is tolerable for you and suitable for your condition and its location.

4. As the clinician moves the therapy source around the treatment site, you may experience a deep, dull ache or sharp feeling.

5. You will be asked to report when you feel the ache or feedback from the treatment source, and your clinician will adjust the output of the PiezoWave2 to the appropriate level for your treatment. You may be asked to confirm you continue feeling feedback at the current site during treatment. Be sure to mention if the treatment becomes uncomfortable, and your clinician will adjust the settings accordingly to be more tolerable.

6. After treatment, the gel will be removed. You may resume normal daily activities, though you may experience some minor discomfort or aches after treatment. Sometimes patients may experience some reddening around the treatment site.
